Meet Suzanne, MSW, RSW

Suzanne Hamil, BSW, MSW, RSW, LMSW is the owner of Mindful Balance Psychological Wellness LLC. Suzanne specializes in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Family Systems Approach, and Family & Couples Counseling & Therapy. With over 10 years of Child Protection experience, Suzanne has developed deep expertise in treating at risk children and families affected by sexual abuse, domestic violence, and substance abuse. Suzanne also practices in the area of family assessment and mediation for the purpose of resolving custody and access issues. Suzanne is able to connect well with adults (18+ years) and establish a positive rapport with each of her clients.

  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) [Informed]

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) [EMDRIA trained]

  • Progressive Counting (PC)

  • Sex Therapy

 

Suzanne earned her undergrad in Social Work from University of Michigan, her Masters degree in Social Work and a Graduate Certificate in Family & Couples Counseling and Therapy from Wayne State University.

Suzanne's passion is working with individuals to help give you hope for a better tomorrow. Whether you are experiencing depression, anxiety, isolation, family/peer conflict, impaired functioning at school/work, difficulties coping, difficulties managing anger/stress, or struggle to use healthy coping skills, she can help you work through these challenges. Suzanne also enjoy working with couples to increase their understanding of self, their partner, and the patterns of interactions to help facilitate changes that enhance relationships.

Robert Switzer

Meet Robert, MSW, RSW

​Robert Switzer, BA, BSW, MSW, RSW is a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist who practices Trauma Informed Psychotherapy for those living in Ontario.

 

Robert has almost 20 years, of direct practice experience, working with those who are coping with, and who have survived, different forms of trauma.

 

Experiencing loss, or a traumatic event (or events,) happens in ways that are unique to each individual. Working through those experiences, with an experienced clinician, is important and can be life changing.

 

Offering a safe space, Robert takes pride in empowering, guiding, and validating those who have experienced trauma, loss, family or relationship breakdown, grief, and/or those who are coping with different types of illnesses. He is a compassionate professional who uses a variety of techniques to help you engage in the process of self-discovery, reinvention, and self-development. 

 

Robert Switzer, through Mindful Balance Psychological Wellness, would be honoured to support you, and/or your loved one, in your new journey toward wellness.
