Suzanne Hamil
Suzanne has spent her career working in the spaces where life gets genuinely hard. Before founding Mindful Balance, she worked in child protection for over a decade, sitting with families navigating abuse, domestic violence, and the kind of pain that doesn't come with easy answers. That work taught her something she carries into every session: people are more resilient than they often believe, and the right support at the right time makes an extraordinary difference.
Suzanne works with individuals, couples, and families across Ontario and the United States. She has advanced training in EMDR, one of the most well-researched treatments for trauma, alongside specialties in couples and family therapy, sex therapy, and family assessment and mediation. But more than any technique, what clients say they notice most is that she is genuinely in their corner. Direct when they need honesty. Patient when they need time.
She is particularly passionate about working with adults who've been carrying something heavy for a long time and are finally ready to put it down, whether that's the aftermath of trauma, a relationship that keeps hitting the same wall, or a version of themselves they're ready to move on from.

Kelly Fletcher
Kelly has spent more than 15 years in mental health care, long enough to have sat with people through every kind of difficulty, and to know that what people need most isn't a clinician who has all the answers. It's someone who creates enough safety that they can find their own. She brings that commitment to every session: calm, professional, and genuinely focused on building skills that actually last beyond the therapy room.
Kelly specializes in anxiety, depression, grief, major life transitions, and caregiver strain, with particular expertise in supporting individuals and families navigating dementia and other memory-related conditions. If you're caring for a parent or partner whose mind is changing, Kelly understands the specific grief, the role shifts, and the exhaustion that comes with that, and she can help you find ground again. She is also trained in CBT-I, a highly effective evidence-based approach for sleep problems and insomnia.
Kelly works with adults who are dealing with something that is quietly grinding them down, the slow accumulation of stress, or a transition that has left them feeling like they've lost themselves somewhere along the way. She is especially drawn to working with caregivers, who so often put everyone else first and arrive in her office having forgotten what it feels like to be cared for themselves.

Robert Switzer
Robert has spent nearly 20 years doing some of the most important work in mental health, sitting alongside people who've survived trauma, loss, and the kind of pain that quietly reshapes a person over time. He knows that trauma doesn't always announce itself. Sometimes it's a single event. Sometimes it's a lifetime of smaller experiences that accumulate into something heavier than anyone was meant to carry alone. It's his privilege to walk with you as you set-out to create your new journey.
Robert practices trauma-informed psychotherapy for Ontario residents, offering both virtual and phone sessions. His approach is compassionate and unhurried, he believes healing happens in its own time, and that the most important element a therapist can offer is a space where a client feels genuinely safe. He works with individuals navigating trauma, grief, relationship breakdown, loss, and chronic illness, drawing on a range of therapeutic techniques tailored to each person.
What clients often say about Robert is that he makes them feel less alone, because he shows up, session after session, as someone who is genuinely invested in their wellbeing. Whatever you're carrying, you won't have to carry it by yourself anymore. When you're ready, let's start your new journey towards wellness together.
